Djavid was born with a malformation of one of his legs, the reason for which his parents abandoned him after he was born. His parents left him with nothing, not even a name. Although he was included in the list of children that can be adopted, Djavid never was, specifically because of his disability. This has led to him being a very shy and closed up little boy, one that characterizes himself according to his physical limitations.
Because of the generous support from Blue Hill Community Church in Hyde Park, MA, http://www.bluehillchurch.org, and Donna Franca Tours in Boston, https://www.donnafranca.com, we were able to cover travel expenses for him and a chaperone to fly from Moldova to Italy to receive his prosthetic leg. After Djavid got a free prosthetic in Italy, his life has literally changed. He has become unrecognizable at his orphanage, where he now charismatically plays and talks about his superpowers. Although a child, Djavid has already learned enough about strength of character and determination. Now, ready to be adopted, Djavid is getting used to his prosthetic leg and is hopeful about the future.
A national TV channel (Pro TV) featured a story about Djavid and the impact of prostheses. Click on the link to see the tremendous positive impact on this child.
